While the market square in Kuopio was being renovated, there was a temporary art exhibition on the fence separating the work site from the area still open to the public. I helped design the show, which we called "Error 404" since the fence was there to limit entry into the half of the market square that was more or less missing during the renovation. The artwork was printed in large format and attached to the fence using zip-ties. By the end of the exhibition, more than half of the art had "gone missing", which was both disappointing and kind of flattering for us as the artists. Three of my pieces were included.

Art Exhibition: Error 404

This is a digital collage portraying time as different cycles. The work was finished around the end of 2009, which is depicted in the work. The other big years are the year of my birth and the predicted end of that cycle.

Done in acrylic. The original size was around 18" x 14", using a cropped photo as a reference. This is the only one of the three pieces that survived the exhibition. I later gave it to the model, but it's probably sitting rolled up in a corner somewhere. I mean... who has room to display a 6' wide (the prints for the exhibition were pretty big) print of their eye?

Another acrylic piece, also 18" x 14". This is me! Well – I referenced a close-up photo of myself; and took some artistic license. It was a school project and the assignment – if I recall correctly – was simply "self-portrait".
